During pet transportation - What exactly do you do for our pet?

  • We Make sure your pet/baby/animal is in a safe, non-stressful environment with complete and individual interaction on a continuum.
  • We are with cell phones and someone at our home for you to call and talk to, check on, etc your animal. You will always be able to get someone immediately that will be on top of where and what your pet is doing at all times. There are places the cell's doesn't work and we want a non-stressful trip for all concerned. This should be a piece of cake with all involved, especially the animal, but everyone involved should be non-stressed as well.
  • We provide each animal $500.00 of insurance. You may purchase more insurance if you feel a need to.
  • *We use non-spill bottles for fresh water at all times in transit.
  • *We provide the containment, the food and water bowl for food, and for water for those animals that cannot use a bottle. The bottles allow them to have fresh bottled water all the time, whereas bowls tend to spill and wett he baby and we stop and change them and fix them good as new and keep going.
  • We transport in comfort for all, heat/cool as needed to do our best to please everyone, but never put an animal in danger for it. That animal will have special transport needs which we will happily accommodate.
  • We provide crates, bedding, etc, but always feel free to send their own if that is what you want them to have. We want all to be comfortable and non-stressed.
  • We sleep at night with the animals in animal friendly hotels, and they are easily found these days. We don't go if our animals cannot go.

Is is okay to call about the availability of your puppies?

Yes. In fact, we encourage you to call us! We like to take some time to speak directly with each person that is looking for a puppy to help match a puppy with its new family. Since we spend most of the morning doing puppy chores, we welcome your calls Monday through Saturday between 12:00 noon and 10:00 p.m. CST at (870)449-5741. Puppies are available for sale until a deposit has been placed on them. At no time will we reserve a puppy without a deposit. If a puppy is put up for sale, we will never change our mind and decide to keep it after it has been offered to you.

Do you take reservations for puppies?

Yes, we accept reservations for puppies on a very regular basis. It's best to just give us a call so we can give you the most up-to-date information on the availability of our puppies. We may not always have openings for immediate reservation of the breed, color, gender or disposition you may be wishing to acquire, as we have no sure way of knowing what each litter will produce until the time of its arrival. However, our puppies are often reserved at a very young age or even before they're born. Females tend to be reserved faster than males. If we don't already have a puppy that is what you're looking for, it would be a good idea to put a deposit down to hold the next available puppy based on your criteria. We will let you know when a suitable match is born, and if one is not born within your expectations we will refund your deposit. We only accept a limited number of deposits on puppies that have not yet been born.

What payment methods do you accept and how do I get my payment to you?

We accept money orders, cashier's checks or credit cards through PayPal (3% charge fee). Sorry, no personal checks. We will hold the puppy upon receiving a deposit of $100.00, which is non-refundable. If the puppy gets sick, dies, or our veterinarian finds anything wrong with it at the time of its health inspection prior to shipping, the deposit will be refunded. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the puppy is shipped. Puppies that are picked up at our kennels can be paid for with cash or a money order (no checks, please) at that time. It is best to email us at info@puppytransport.com when you have sent off your deposit, as we've had a payment get lost in the mail before. Many of our customers send their payments by, western union, certified or registered mail so the payment can be tracked. We will also email you when your payment has arrived.

Do you require contracts to be signed for the sale of a puppy?

Yes. After we've had a chance to visit and you've decided which puppy you want, we will fax or email you our Contract of Sale and Guarantee. Upon the return of this contract by fax or email, we will hold the selected puppy for up to 7 days to allow for your $100 down payment/deposit to reach us or to clear, depending on the payment method you're using. Two hard copies should be printed and signed, and one copy then returned to us by mail. Just include it with your down payment/deposit if you're mailing a money order or cashier's check.

Do you ship puppies?

Are your puppies AKC registered?

We sell our puppies with a nonrestrictive AKC (American Kennel Club) registration. What this means is that we do not require a contract saying you will not breed your dog or that you have to have it spayed or neutered. We do not charge show quality prices nor guarantee that you are buying a show dog. That's not to say that some of our puppies will not qualify to be show dogs! However, we feel that this can only be shown when a dog has reached its full growth so as to determine its faults. We feel that you cannot assume a puppy is a show dog based on its pedigree or its cute looks as a puppy.

Which is better -- a male or a female puppy?

Although many people like the little females simply because that is all they have ever owned, males most often make the better family pet. They are not as independent as a female, nor do they have the moods that the females seem to go through. It's a good idea to have male puppies neutered when they are about 4 to 5 months of age.

Should I have my male puppy neutered?

When a male is neutered at about 4 to 5 months of age, they rarely have the tendency to mark their territory as so many people are afraid of them doing in their homes. We have many happy owners of male puppies that have never had any problems with them in this way. They make wonderful family pets and companions. Neutering your puppy will protect his health, help him to liver longer and be a better pet, along with improving his house manners.

What should I feed my puppy?

Your puppy needs quality puppy food and fresh water close to him or her at all times. We also recommend giving your puppy Nutrical (it comes in a tube and is found at most pet stores or at your veterinarian's office). Give it twice a day after meals, or in between meals. A small dab on the end of your finger works great. Nutrical is for extra calories. Please don't give too much though, as that can make them sick.

How often should I give my puppy a bath?

Give your puppy a bath only when he smells or is dirty. Be careful not to get water in his ears. We recommend putting cotton in his ears while you're bathing him. Keep shampoo from getting into his eyes too. Dry your puppy immediately so that he doesn't get chilled and catch a cold.

How often should my puppy get a checkup?

Take your puppy to your veterinarian for regular checkups and vaccinations. Check with your veterinarian on how often they recommend you bring your puppy in, and then be sure you do so. Giving your puppy this extra care and attention will return it a hundred fold
